This demonstrates a typical problem when CD-R's are 'burnt' on a PV and played on an audio machine. Clicks at this level are not normally heard, but are caused by the error correction resorting to interpolation. A disk like this can fail to play at any moment if an error gets slighly worse!
A Maxell XL-ll80 'Music' CD-R gave no errors under the same test conditions! Maxell claim a special dye is used to give compatibility with the different laser characteristics. |
