Excellent results. Note the lower noise (by 6-7dB) than on the Denon machine (DR-M24HX) that made the test tape. Also lower distortion!
This SAX tape made with high bias is much more compatible than SA (lower bias) which causes bad HF loss through magnetisation depth anomalies.
Note that azimuth has been optimised for HF response at 16-20kHz. Adjusting for zero phase causes considerable rolloff! This suggests that head gaps are not quite in line when vertical. |
