This uses the 'variable bit rate' MP3 option which produces a much smaller file on these tests. This suggests that variable bit rate should be avoided as it does not just reduce file size on simple material but also has more
coding artifacts.
Note that the distortion is worse, and listening to the dist residue while the sequence runs reveals a louder more wobbly 'swishing' sound.
