Retest in 2012. The headphones can lose bass response due to the surround foam becoming porous, but these particular ones have stood up well. The peak at 60Hz makes them a little bass-heavy. The dip at 7kHz is reduced from previous tests, probably because this test used a microphone on an earplug (blocked meatus) while earlier tests may have had resonance from an open meatus. The dip is probably desirable to correct for side versus frontal presentation (HRTF difference) though no headphone can suit everyone in this respect. |
